Futurologist & Urban Geographer

Dr. Stefan Carsten is a futurologist and urban geographer. As a future critic and consultant, he supports many organizations on their way to a sustainable future. For Daimler, he designed new mobility services that are used today in cities around the world. As a member of the Transport Ministry’s expert advisory board, he develops strategic guidelines for the future of public transportation in Germany. On the advisory board of the Reallabor Radbahn, he supports the transformation of public space in Berlin. His clients can be found in the automotive industry, the bicycle industry, public transport, the petroleum industry, the micromobility as well as the aviation industry. The goal of these cooperations is the transformation towards a sustainable society. Since 2019, he has been cooperating with the Zukunftsinstitut in Frankfurt am Main, where he publishes the annual Mobility Report. In addition to numerous lectures and lecturing activities, he holds a teaching position at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences.
